Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament (Q-School) 2014 at Hombre Golf Club in Panama City Beach

One of the most competitive golf tournaments is in full swing, the Web. com Tour Qualifying Tournament, known as “Q-School.” The Second Stage Qualifying will take place at six locations, one of them in Panama City Beach at Hombre Golf Club . Golfers are competing to win Web.com Tour playing privileges, known as Tour Cards. Fifty Tour Cards are available.
“Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come out and watch a very high caliber of golf played over the four competitive days with roughly eighty professional golfers competing in the Web Com 2nd Stage Q-School at Hombre Golf Club” states Craig Hanlin, General Manager of Hombre Golf Club.
The PGA Tour, based in Florida with tournaments throughout the United States, plus Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico, is considered the premier men’s professional golf tour in the world. All players who advance to the Final Stage of the Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament will secure at least conditional status on the Tour in 2015. The Final Stage will be played December 11-16 at PGA National Resort & Spa (Champion and Fazio courses) in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
The Hombre, opened in December 1989 with 18 holes, hosted its first PGA Tour event in1990, the Panama City Beach Classic. In 2001, Hombre added the “Good” nine holes (3170 yards, par 35) to go along with the original “Bad” and “Ugly” nines. With 27 holes, Hombre can give you three different 18-hole options, Hombre’s “the Good, the Bad & the Ugly.” In the past Hombre has had the likes of Gary Nicklaus, Mike Weir, Michael Campbell, Frank Lickliter Jason Dufner, Zach Johnson, Boo Weekley and Scott McCarron, just to name a few, at the “Q” School.
Immediately following Q-School, Hombre will undergo an entire renovation of the clubhouse interior. The clubhouse will be closed from November 24, 2014 through February of 2015 for interior renovations with upgrades to restroom and locker room facilities, expansion of the dining area to allow for more seating, and modernization of the Golf Shop.
