ST. JOE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GRANTS $15,000 TO HIDLE HOUSE FOR TEENS

The St Joe Community Foundation (Foundation) provided a $15,000 grant to Hidle House for safety improvements.  This grant helps Hidle House, one of Anchorage Children’s Homes oldest programs, provide shelter and safety to youths ages 10 – 17 who come to Hidle House from a variety of sources.

Hidle House was moved to its current location in Panama City over 15 years ago. Through the emergencyshelter the immediate needs of runaway, homeless and foster care youth and their families are addressed. The services offered include individual, family and group counseling, education, and referrals to additional services. During this time Hidle has provided shelter to over 2,000 youth.  Hidle House is a safe haven for these youth until a permanent alternative is found.

“By providing this funding, the Foundation is helping to provide a safe shelter for youth that may be abused, neglected or abandoned in our communities, says Janet Greeno, Executive Director of the Foundation. “ The Foundation is honored to provide the funds for the Hidle House improvements that will benefit so many teens that may have runaway or are homeless.”
