Little girls became princesses, and their favorite male role models became kings as they turned out Cinderella style for the 10th Annual Princess Ball. This “father-daughter” evening of dining and dancing is a major fundraiser for Girls Inc. of Bay County. About 350 girls up to age 12 attended this year’s event and were escorted by either their dad, a brother, grandfather or uncle.
“We had a great turnout again this year and are looking for ways to accommodate the growing numbers for next year,” says Girls Inc. Executive Director Niki Kelly. “This event is so special as it gives girls and their dads, or other significant male role model, one of those few unique moments together. Memories that will last a lifetime!”
Money raised at this event supports Girls Inc. programming, which inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Each year, more than 400 girls are encouraged through Girls Inc.’s holistic, in-depth approach to mentoring, research-based programming, and a positive, pro-girl environment.
A Girls Inc. board committee is currently working on plans for the 11th Annual Princess Ball. Anyone interested in helping with the 2016 event contact Niki Kelly at (850) 769-6703 for more information.
