Little Princesses were accompanied to an evening of dance and Disney princess encounters during the 11th Annual Princess Ball. The event is a special night out for all girls up to age 12 and their special prince be that dad, granddad, or other guardian.
This year they had a special little princess who attending the ball. Meredith Kate Davis (4 years old) has a terminal genetic disorder called Sanfilippo syndrome. There are no treatments or cure. Meredith’s mom reached out to the organizers of the Princess Ball because more than likely this would be Meredith’s only chance to dance with her dad before she begins to experience more serious effects of the disease.
“While the Princess Ball is an important event to Girls Inc., we recognize that it is very important to our community as well. Meredith’s story is powerful example of that, and shows how so many little girls might not get to experience special moments with their dads without us and our wonderful sponsors,” says Niki Kelly, Executive Director of Girls Inc. of Bay County
Money raised at this event supports Girls Inc. programming, which inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Each year, more than 400 girls are encouraged through Girls Inc.’s mentoring, research-based programming, and a positive, pro-girl environment.
