The St. Joe Community Foundation (Foundation) provided a $50,000 grant to AMIkids Panama City Marine Institute to help fund new computer equipment and vocational training.  This grant will allow the organization to offer new courses and certification in the hospitality and construction fields.

“The Foundation’s Board of Trustees were impressed to learn of AMIkids program in our community and how these youth are transformed from troubled pasts to productive individuals in our society” said Janet Greeno, Executive Director for the Foundation.  “This funding will allow more at risk students in Bay County the opportunity to gain an education and job if they participate in AMIkids programs.”

AMIkids Panama City Marine Institute believes that even kids with a troubled past have the potential for a bright future. Founded in 1974, AMIkids Panama City Marine Institute empowers kids to discover and reach that potential and, as a result, transform their lives and strengthen our community.

“In addition to our evidence-based, AMIkids Personal Growth Model © approach to separate that troubled past from a bright future, AMIkids Panama City Marine Institute understands that to sustain that positivity and success outside of our program, our students need the skills and credentials necessary to obtain employment and build a platform of success for their future,” said Ron Boyce, Executive Director for AMIkids Panama City Marine Institute. “Through this generous grant from the Foundation we are able to add key industry training for our kids to help them prepare for careers after they complete our program.”

“We are extremely thankful for the Foundation’s support of AMIkids Panama City Marine Institute and the support of kids and families in our area,” added Boyce.
