RockTenn Family Fun Day at the Historic Martin House

Once a year, the beautiful old house that sits picturesque atop a hill, surrounded by Spanish Moss covered Oak trees and with view of the bay, is the center of all attention. We are talking about the Martin House and the day is ROCK TENN’S FAMILY FUN DAY that took place on October 5th this year.

Pedro Fúster, Rock Tenn’s General Manager, initiated the event three years ago to thank all employees and their families and to honor all the dedicated paper mill workers. Invited were all current employees and retirees with their families.

Entire generations came to celebrate, to join the fun, play games, win prizes and have a good time at the BBQ buffet. Deep South Bluegrass, a local band with one of its members being a Rock Tenn employee and his son playing the fiddle, provided just the right tunes for the fun and action fi lled day. Even a sudden rain shower could not interfere -the party was simply moved inside the beautifully renovated Martin House, which was decora ted in fall colors for the occasion. It was a delightful event and brought together all employees, many of them who had been, and a lot more who are still working at the paper mill.
