There is nothing that gets the fan-sprit up like tailgating before the game. Gary Prescott has organized his tailgate at Doak for more than 35 years. Gary’s sister, Sharon, joined the tailgate in the year 2000. 25 to 80 Florida State Seminoles fans are joining the tailgate at any given game day. About 5 years ago News Channel 7 Meteorologist Chris Smith joined the tailgate and this year the Justin Thames group has also joined so that there is “the Firewater and Smoke Signals group” says Sharon Prescott. “Once everyone was a guest of someone and they just keep coming.”

FSU TailgatingThere are about seven tents with about the same amount of tables, matching tablecloths and lots of Indian decor that dates back to the 60s when Sharon was at FSU. “We have pumpkins filled with flowers, candles, spears, a chalk board with our gourmet menu and of course matching outfits. We have lots of guests since we have been in the same spot for so so long!! Even the chief of the Seminole Nation, head of the Boosters, Mike Martin came by to visit our tailgate on October 18th!”
