27th Annual Lobster Festival & Tournament Recap

Panama City Beach, FL – Schooners 27^th Annual Lobster Festival and Tournament has drawn to a close and despite the uncooperative weather this weekend, it was still a very successful event!

Yesterday was the final day for the lobster tournament and when the scales closed at 3pm the winners were announced:

SPINY

1^st Place: John Pipkin – 8.9

2^nd Place: Mark Elliott – 8.9

3^rd Place: Tommy Hallman – 8.2

SHOVELNOSE

1^st Place: Clint Iles – 1.7

2^nd Place: James Kosier – 1.4

3^rd Place: Mike Salow – 1.4

BIG 6:

1^st Place: Mark Elliot  – 45.4

2^nd Place: John Pipkin – 40.3

3^rd Place: Troy Branham – 30.3

These lobsters were then sold during a live auction, with proceeds benefiting two local charities, the Florida Aquatic Marine Institute and Toys for Kids. Those proceeds combined with the proceeds from raffle ticket sales earlier in the week, helped to raise close to 10K for these very worthy charities. 

Schooners Lobster Festival and Tournament is the largest 4 day lobster festival in Florida and attracts thousands of visitors and locals every year.

Event officials say they are already looking forward to the next one as Schooners celebrates the 28^th Annual Lobster Festival and Tournament in 2017.
