MARY ALICE MONROE
INTRODUCES NEW NOVEL "THE SUMMER GUESTS"
New York Times bestselling author Mary Alice Monroe will introduce her latest novel “The Summer Guests” on a nationwide book tour in June —Panama City fans will have the opportunity to meet the author in person.
The novel centers on questions anyone who lives in the path of tropical storms will ask. What do I treasure? What would I take with me ifIhadtoflee?Whatifmyhomeis blown away?
Monroe explores these questions, presenting a group of people—made up of dear friends and complete strangers—who escape the wrath of Hurricane Noelle barreling toward
the southeastern coast of the United States. The group evacuates to a scenic horse farm in the mountains of North Carolina owned by Charles and Grace Phillips. A mercurial world-renowned equestrian, an Olympics-aspiring young woman and her domineering mother, the Phillips’ daughter and her pack of rescue dogs, an entrepreneurial make-up artist, and Monroe fan- favorite “Beach House” resident, Cara Rutledge, find themselves under one roof, riding out the storm.
Relationships are put to the test during the most challenging week of their lives, confronting the unresolved issues they have with themselves and with each other.
With the storm’s passing, they each discover what matters most, and it is not possessions. “The Summer Guests,” Monroe’s first stand-alone novel,
is a heartwarming
story of self-
discovery, love,
redemption,
personalbonds,
and new
beginnings.
The public is invited to meet the author at a luncheon at the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club on June 14, 11:30 a.m.
$ 40 per ticket includes an authographed copy of the book.
“The Summer Guests” will be in bookstores on June 11, 2019.
