Should you manage to pry yourself from this chemical-level fusion of low-end, you’ll revel in a shower of electric lead lines that emote with near-human quality. This is especially true when the twin takes its softer tonal footing in “22,” which listens like a spiritual sequel to their Born for Spaces single, “Childhood Keepsake, Circa 1991.” The writing here isn’t too shabby, either. Vocalist, Weston Hine, returns to the same vulnera- ble spot that has become so signature to the band’s more sentimental anthems. Familiar scenarios of self-discovery and rebirth ooze with poetry...
