The Tyndall AFB Youth Program’s young participants organized the first Annual Art Gala, an event that showcased artwork and musical talent. The Tyndall Youth Program is an affiliate of Boys and Girls Club of America, an organization that provides youth development programs and activities.
“We are all about opportunities for families to sit together,” said Matt Kuhl, the Tyndall Youth Programs Director. “We provide community services, fundraise, and provide education and community development, and we prep for college. This event is a giveback ‘thank you’ for the parents of our school age kids.”
Presented by their respective club presidents, the Tyndall Youth Program’s Keystone Club and Torch Club and their group of young performers received much applause for their performances in singing, saxophone, German flute, and piano. Artwork was exhibited and was offered at a silent auction.
The evening was entirely organized by the young talented artists and musicians, said Child and Youth Program Development Specialist, Lubaba Bullock who was one of the adults to help organize the event. Other supporting staff included Lt. Bryant, Deputy Flight Chief for Airmen Family Services Flight who agreed that this event was a wonderful success for the children and parents. The children look forward to the next event Art Gala in 2017.
